The City is Famous!

City of the World 2012 Exhibition

Our friend in Australia Julia Wakefield is exhibiting her own works along with the City of the world 2012 print!
Here is the announcement, click to see large version. Oh how I wish planes traveled faster, I would see it in person.

The City of the World home page:

and the City of the World 2012 Book:

Or just search Amazon for City of the World 2012 - Maria Arango

This only happens to We

We as in Me!!!

Seeeee...the "W" is an upside down "M"...just like my book apparently was assembled with an upside down cover!!!

Oh lordie, como sufrimos las madres solteras...
I checked the first few books, maybe two or three of them and they looked fine so I really don't know how many of you received the unique one-of-a-kind anomalies (good way to look at it, no?).

I have to laugh. I have contacted the printer (CreateSpace) and am guessing they probably won't do anything for me since I will not ask any of my dear artists to return their books.
So here's the deal, if you can live with it, keep it and enjoy the unique copy of this otherwise perfectly wonderful book. If you can't live with it, just let me know and as soon as I receive the replacement copies I will send you one with its head in the right place.

Moving right along...sigh

No Rest for the Weary

Reset Button

When I finish a large project there is always huge relief accompanied by a tiny bit of a letdown. After graduating from my Master's Degree (eons ago!) I holed up in the house, became a walking addict and wrote three novels. Only then life went on...

As I write this, I am thinking of several home projects, a rather physically demanding garden/house/yard task or four (...teen), a few print series I have been meaning to finish up, the next puzzle project (of course) and generally trying to organize my jumbled brain into a coherent plan of attack to accomplish even half of what I want to do for the rest of the year.
One thing I know for sure, my friends and family have mandated that I rest for at least a couple of weeks so here I am, resting...NOT!!!

BTW The Books are Mailed

These lovely accounts of our adventure are now off and running to their proper homes. If you missed the opportunity, the book Growing the Garden 2013 is now officially available in, Amazon Europe and soon in Amazon everywhere else. Also in Kindle format through Amazon and in e-book format through CreateSpace (Amazon's POD outfit).
Title: Growing the Fantastic Garden 2013
ISBN-13: 978-1493648306
ISBN-10: 1493648306

But Wait, There's More!

And if you wish you could hang the lovely prints but lack the space, or alternatively if you would like to give the gift of art this holiday season, you can! And in the process you can help fund the deficit for this project and seed the next one.
Visit the Puzzle Prints section in either of 1000 Woodcuts stores and browse the many alternatives in formats and sizes:

There are a couple of exhibits in the works for our lovely puzzles and I managed to secure a puzzle prints solo exhibit here in Las Vegas! More about those in the next post.

Books books and other garden things...

Good news for everyone who pre-ordered the Growing the Fantastic Garden 2013 print version book. Last week I finished uploading files and photos and such, editing, re-editing, proofing, re-proofing and finally...

Immediately I headed to my account and ordered your books. Order will be received on or around November 15 and I will immediately send them out to you.

Participants of the Fantastic Garden who pre-ordered one or more books are listed in the Participant List page on this blog. If you do not find your name listed as having ordered a book, let me know:

Cover Peek

Check it out, like it? It is YOUR work!!!

Where to get it

The book will be available in and Amazon Europe in 5-7 business days. I also paid to have the book distributed to the rest of the world (well, the rest of the world serviced by Amazon) so it should be available later this year everywhere else. A Kindle version is also available, live right now. And may I add how much of a pain it is to re-format the big book on Kindle format! Yikes! But it is done.

There are also other choices. I will be listing the print and e-version (PDF) of the book in my store on as soon as the physical book crosses my threshold.

And another reminder that the Colophon is now available for download through my website:
